Routine Eye Exams
Don't book online. Contact the Access to Care line at 719-524-2273, option 1.
Bring and take note of the following items for the appointment:
Arrive 15 minutes early
Expect to be dilated. Bring sunglasses.
If you wear contact lenses, please wear them to the appointment and bring any prescription information with you.
Only one routine eye exam is authorized every 365 days.
If no appointments are available within 28 days, Active Duty Service Members are authorized a referral for optometry services off-base. A referral is required. Place a message to your PCM via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal and indicate the need for optometry network referral due to no access within 28 days. Visit our page for appointments and referrals page for instructions when your care is deferred off-base/to the network.
Acute Eye Issues
Refractive Surgery/PRK/LASIK/Laser Vision
Current contact lens wearers: wear contact lenses and bring a copy of your last year’s prescription to have it renewed. Purchasing of contacts are out of pocket.
Never worn contacts: It is not a TRICARE covered service and will have to be seen off- base for an initial contact lens fitting (out of pocket cost).
This is not applicable to AD flyers or cadets who are covered under the contact lens program for active duty flyers.
